The article in question is described as a “Stub Shaft” assembly, part number FK25383, used in an IP Compressor for a gas turbine engine. Based on the descriptive information and technical drawing you have provided, the function of the stub shaft is to transmit torque to the components that form the main compressor shaft. While the stub shaft is a part of the main transmission shaft within the compressor, it is in and of itself a transmission shaft. The applicable subheading for the subject bearing will be 8483.10.5000, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for other transmission shafts and cranks. The rate of duty is free. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change.
