Dear Mr./ Ms. Shih: In your letter dated January 23, 2007, received in this office on February 12, 2007, you requested a classification ruling. The submitted sample, Style F6428 (PC852HB) is a headband made of knit 100% cotton jersey fabric. The headband is approximately 2” wide with a knot in the center and is trimmed with piping. The applicable subheading for Style F6428 (PC852HB) will be 6117.80.8500, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for "Other made up accessories, knitted or crocheted; knitted or crocheted parts of garments or of clothing accessories: other accessories: Other: headbands, ponytail holders and similar articles." The duty rate will be 14.6% ad valorem. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change.
