Dear Mr. Helms: In your letter dated July 27, 2006, on behalf of Euromarket Designs Inc., you requested a tariff classification ruling. The merchandise under consideration is an Abaca Ottoman in an hourglass figure made of woven natural abaca over a metal frame. The item is primarily used as a nightstand or end table but can also be used as an ottoman or stool. You have submitted a photograph of the ottoman with your request. The applicable subheading for the ottoman will be 9403.80.3030, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for “Other furniture and parts thereof: Furniture of other materials, including cane, osier, bamboo or similar materials: Of cane, osier, bamboo or similar materials, Other: Household.” The rate of duty will be Free. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change.
