Dear Mr. Lange: In your letter dated December 19, 2005 you requested a classification ruling. You will be importing a kitchen towel. A photo of the towel was submitted with your request. The towel is made from 100 percent cotton terry fabric. One side of the towel is printed with a fruit motif. The towel will measure 15 x 25 inches. The applicable subheading for the towel will be 6302.60.0010, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for bed linen, table linen, toilet linen and kitchen linen: toilet linen and kitchen linen of terry toweling or similar terry fabrics, of cotton… towels: dish. The duty rate will be 9.1 percent ad valorem. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change. The text of the most recent HTSUS and the accompanying duty rates are provided on World Wide Web at http://www.usitc.gov/tata/hts/. The kitchen towel falls within textile category designation 369.
