Dactinomycin is also known as Actinomycin-D and belongs to a group of cytotoxic antibiotics produced from the bacteria Streptomyces parvullus. Dactinomycin works by blocking the creation of RNA. It is indicated for the treatment of various type of cancers including Wilm’s tumor, rhabdomyosarcoma, Ewing's sarcoma, trophoblastic neoplasm, testicular cancer, and certain types of ovarian cancer. In a follow-up email to this office, you indicated Dactinomycin is produced from micro-organisms produced by fermentation. The applicable subheading for the Dactinomycin in bulk powder form will be 2941.90.1050, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for "Antibiotics: Other: Natural: Other.” The rate of duty will be free. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change.
