Dear Ms. Singley: In your letter dated November 10, 2010, you requested a tariff classification ruling. The submitted sample is being retained by this office. The instant sample, which was not identified as to style or quality number, consists of a narrow woven pile fabric that measures 1½ inches in width. The fabric is finished on both sides. You state that the material is composed of 100 percent nylon man-made fibers. The sample provided was wound on a cardboard spool and measures several feet in length. The applicable subheading for the product will be 5806.10.2800, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for … woven pile fabrics, of man-made fibers, other than fastener tapes. The rate of duty will be 8.4 percent ad valorem. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change.
