Product description
There are two items concerned, part #s DLQ72 and XL96. Both items are indicator gauges which are used in a ship’s bridge. Both are the dial type of indicator gauge. They have a measurement scale in a circular configuration and a dial/pointer which rotates and points to the particular measurement on the scale. Item # 1 is referred to as part # DLQ72. This device is a magnetic coil type indicator. This gauge can be designed/manufactured to display rudder angle, RPM, pressure, or temperature based on the customer’s needs. The measurements displayed come from various sensors, potentiometers or transducers. This display incorporates a light emitting diode (LED) as an illuminating component. The LED allows the measurement scale and pointer to be easily read. Item # 2 is referred to as part # XL96. This device is a magnetic coil indicator. This gauge can be designed/manufactured to display azimuth thruster direction, RPM, and propeller pitch angle based on the customer’s needs. The measurements displayed come from various sensors, potentiometers or transducers. This display incorporates a light emitting diode (LED) as an illuminating component. The LED allows the measurement scale and pointer to be easily read. In addition, this gauge incorporates a microprocessor which is used to reduce static in the analogue signal. This results in more accuracy of the values being displayed.
CBP rationale
The applicable subheading for both indicator gauges (part # DLQ72 and part # XL96) will be 8531.20.0040, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for “Electric sound or visual signaling apparatus…: Indicator panels incorporating liquid crystal devices (LCD’s) or light emitting diodes(LED’s): Other.
