Dear Mr. Crago: In your letter dated January 15, 2009, you requested a tariff classification ruling. You refer to item number A03GA00728 as a 3-piece barware set. The set includes a zinc alloy and plastic wine stopper, a stainless steel foil cutter and a zinc alloy corkscrew. The corkscrew is operated by a mechanical gear and lever system. The three items are packaged for retail sale in a tin storage box with a fitted insert. The applicable subheading for the 3-piece barware set will be 8210.00.0000, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for hand-operated mechanical appliances, weighting 10 kg or less, used in the preparation, conditioning or serving of food or drink, and base metal parts thereof. The rate of duty will be 3.7% ad valorem. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change.
