Box 1199 Williston, Vermont 05495 RE: The tariff classification of a scarf from China. Dear Ms. Ramsey: In your letter dated August 6, 2008, you requested a classification ruling. The sample which you submitted is being returned as requested. The submitted sample, Style SKU 72704, Charcoal Grey is a scarf made of knit fleece100% polyester fabric. The scarf which measures approximately eight inches by seventy two inches has a hidden on-seam zippered pocket on each side to store valuables. The scarf will also be imported in various colors: SKU 72700 Black, SKU 72701 Navy, SKU 72702 Red and SKU 72703 Chocolate Brown. The applicable subheading for Styles SKU 72704, 72700, 72701 72702 and 72703 will be 6117.10.2030, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for "Other made up clothing accessories, knitted or crocheted…Shawls, scarves, mufflers, mantillas, veils and the like: Of man-made, Other." The duty rate will be 11.3% ad valorem. The textile category designation is 659. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change.
