Dear Ms. Cerny: In your letter dated August 7, 2008, you requested a tariff classification ruling on behalf of your client, Applica Consumer Products, Inc. The merchandise under consideration is the DCM3000 Series Replacement Filter for Coffeemakers. A sample was submitted with your ruling request and will be returned to you. The DCM3000 Filter consists of granular chips of activated carbon wrapped in two layers of nonwoven terylene, a thermoplastic polyester resin fabric, and measures approximately 2 inches long by 1.25 inches wide by 1 inch high.
