Talmage Phoenix National Freight Services, Ltd. 855 IL Route 83 Bensenville, IL 60106 RE: The tariff classification of a man’s jacket from Hong Kong or China Dear Ms. Talmage: In your letter dated March 3, 2008, on behalf of The Territory Ahead, you requested a classification ruling. The sample submitted, style number 143062 “Cabin Canvas Jacket,” is a man’s hip-length shirt-styled jacket with a shell composed of a woven 100% cotton fabric. The jacket is lined with a brushed heavy knit 100% polyester fleece fabric. The garment’s shell fabric weighs approximately 7 ounces per square yard. In a phone conversation you indicated that the jacket will also be imported under style number 143620 in tall sizes. The jacket has a fold-down pointed collar, a full front opening secured by a left-over-right, seven-button closure, long vented sleeves with a button closure on the vent opening and a button closure on the cuffs, two chest pockets with flaps secured by a one-button closure and a shirt-style bottom hem.
