(R)-2-Hydroxy-butyric acid, CAS 20016-85-7, also known as Butanoic acid, 2-hydroxy-, (R)-, is a bulk pharmaceutical intermediate. The applicable subheading for (R)-2-Hydroxy-butyric acid will be 2918.19.9000, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for Carboxylic acids with alcohol function but without other oxygen function, their anhydrides, halides, peroxides, peroxyacids and their derivatives: Other: Other: Other. The rate of duty will be 4 percent ad valorem. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change.
