Dear Mr. Ashear: In your letter dated July 16, 2007, you requested a classification ruling. The sample will be returned to you. The submitted sample, Style FGBA37616A is a scarf made of knit 98% acrylic/2% polyester fabric. The scarf is approximately 48” in length and 7” in width with hemmed bottoms and a horizontal stripe design on both ends. The applicable subheading for the scarf Style FGBA37616A will be 6117.10.2030, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for "Other made up clothing accessories, knitted or crocheted…Shawls, scarves, mufflers, mantillas, veils and the like: Of man-made, Other." The duty rate will be 11.3% ad valorem. The textile category designation is 659. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change.
