Box 800 Champlain, NY 12919 RE: The tariff classification of pantyhose from Italy Dear Mr. Ralston: In your letter dated March 6, 2007, you requested a tariff classification ruling on behalf of your client Mondor. Article numbers 1 and 2 are panty hose, knitted from 81% Nylon and 19% Lycra. The panty hose have a gusset crotch. You state that both Article numbers 1 and 2 measure per single yarn 67 decitex or more. The applicable subheading for Article numbers 1 and 2 will be 6115.22.0000, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for “Panty hose, tights, stockings, socks and other hosiery, including stockings…knitted or crocheted: Panty hose and tights: Of synthetic fibers, measuring per single yarn 67 decitex or more: Other.” The duty rate will be 14.9% ad valorem.
