The product L-Valine Tert-Butyl Ester HCL (CAS RN 13518-40-6) is to be used as a pharmaceutical intermediate and will be imported in bulk form. The applicable subheading for the L-Valine Tert-Butyl Ester HCL will be 2922.49.8000, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for: Oxygen-function amino-compounds: Amino-acids, other than those containing more than one kind of oxygen function, and their esters; salts thereof: Other: Other: Other: The rate of duty will be 3.7 percent ad valorem. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change. The text of the most recent HTSUS and the accompanying duty rates are provided on World Wide Web at http://www.usitc.gov/tata/hts/. This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Part 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177).
