Dear Ms. Parker: In your letter dated October 18, 2006, you requested a classification ruling. The provided sample will be returned as per your request. Style 358843 is a pair of women’s pants constructed of 55% linen, 45% cotton woven fabric. The pants have a partially elasticized waistband with a drawstring, side seam pockets, two rear patch pockets, a fake fly, and hemmed legs. The applicable subheading for style 358843 will be 6204.69.9044, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for Women’s …trousers…: Other. The rate of duty will be 2.8% ad valorem. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change. The text of the most recent HTSUS and the accompanying duty rates are provided on World Wide Web at http://www.usitc.gov/tata/hts/. Style 357786 falls within textile category 847. With the exception of certain products of China, quota/visa requirements are no longer applicable for merchandise which is the product of World Trade Organization (WTO) member countries.
