Lauderdale, FL 33301 RE: The tariff classification of castors from Taiwan Dear Mr. Crago: In your letter, dated March 9, 2006, you requested a tariff classification ruling. The samples you submitted, which will be returned to you, are four castors, item number W094EA06175, designed for use on heavy-duty wire shelving units. They are made of 45 percent steel and 55 percent rubber, including steel mounts and rubber wheels. They measure 5 inches in diameter and 1 inch in width. Per Note 2 to Chapter 83, since the width of the wheel is less than 30 mm, the castors fall within heading 8302, HTSUS. The applicable subheading for the castors will be 8302.20.0000, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for base metal mountings, fittings and similar articles suitable for furniture…castors, and parts thereof. The rate of duty will be 5.7 percent ad valorem. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change.
