RI 02862-0200 RE: The tariff classification of a carry case from China. Dear Ms. Albatal: In your letter dated November 8, 2005, you requested a classification ruling for a carry case. A sample of product number 75122 “Video Now Player Carry Case” has been submitted. The item is a travel case measuring approximately 5 ½” x 5 ½” x 2” designed to contain a video player. It is manufactured with an exterior surface of nylon man-made fiber textile material. The interior is textile lined and specially fitted to hold the video player. The case has a top carrying handle and it is secured by means of a flap with hook and loop fastener. Your sample is being returned as requested. The applicable subheading for the carry case will be 4202.92.9026, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTS), which provides in part, for other bags and containers, with outer surface of textile materials, other, other, of man-made fibers. The duty rate will be 17.6 percent ad valorem. HTS 4202.92.9026 falls within textile category designation 670.
