The article in question is described as the BUSH-I bushing used to support the crankshaft of a foot pedal in a pedal boat. The BUSH-I is comprised of a plastic nut, plate, and a bushing. The bushing consists of a threaded housing and bronze insert. Descriptive literature and a sample were submitted. Examination of the sample reveals that the bronze insert of the BUSH-I is a plain shaft bearing assembly that supports the crankshaft of the pedal boat and allows the crankshaft to turn freely when the boat is pedaled. The threaded housing, which holds the bronze bearing, together with the plate and nut, facilitates mounting of the bearing assembly. The applicable subheading for the BUSH-I will be 8483.30.8065, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for other plain shaft bearings with housing. The rate of duty will be 4.5 percent ad valorem. This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Part 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177). A copy of the ruling or the control number indicated above should be provided with the entry documents filed at the time this merchandise is imported.
