Dear Mr. Murphy: In your letter dated December 21, 2001, on behalf of Chippenhook Corporation, you requested a tariff classification ruling for jewelry rolls. The samples submitted are identified as style numbers 63020-893 and 63034. The items are tri-fold jewelry rolls designed for the safe transport and protection of earrings and rings. Both items are manufactured with an exterior and interior surface of man-made fiber textile materials. The interior of each roll contains padded textile bars, a zippered compartment and/or a strip of material with holds designed to contain rings, earrings and/or both. Style 63020-893 measures approximately 2” x 4 ¾” x 1 ½” in its closed position and it is secured by means of a metal snap fastener. Style 63034 measures approximately 9 ¼” x 5 ¾” x 1 ½” in its closed position and it is secured by means of a hook and loop fastener. Your samples are being returned as requested.
