It is intended to be carried with a removable shoulder strap. A flap with a hook and loop closure secures the top opening and a zippered pocket is incorporated on the front exterior. Item SH003 is a zippered case that is specially shaped and fitted to hold a palm pilot. The interior has an open slot, multiple credit card holders, and an adhesive designed to hold the palm pilot in place. Item SH004 is a carry case specially shaped and fitted to hold a cell phone. The top opening is secured by a flap with a hook and loop closure. Item SH006 is a bi-fold carry case designed to hold keys. The interior has two open slots and six metal clips for keys. The case is secured by a hook and loop closure.

Dear Mr. Wada: In your letter dated February 21st, 2001, you requested a ruling on behalf of TJC, Inc. dba Jourdan on tariff classification. The samples submitted with your request consist of items SH001, SH002, SH003, SH004, and SH006. All items are made of textile material of man-made fibers. We are unable to issue a classification ruling for item SH002. Please provide marketing and sales literature that state the use of the “zip purse/wallet”; what is it designed to carry? The general rate of duty will be 18.3 percent ad valorem. This product falls within textile category designation 670. Based upon international textile trade agreements products of China and Taiwan are currently subject to quota and the requirement of a visa. The designated textile and apparel categories and their quota and visa status are the result of international agreements that are subject to frequent renegotiations and changes. To obtain the most current information, we suggest that you check, close to the time of shipment, the U.S. Customs Service Textile Status Report, an internal issuance of the U.S. Customs Service, which is available at the Customs Web site at www.customs.gov. In addition, the designated textile and apparel categories may be subdivided into parts. If so, visa and quota requirements applicable to the subject merchandise may be affected and should also be verified at the time of shipment. (Samples returned).
