Alderwood Road, Suite “G” Portland, Oregon 97220 RE: The tariff classification of two glass articles from China Dear Ms. Andrist: In your letter dated October 10, 2000, on behalf of your client, Uroboros Glass Studios, Inc., you requested a tariff classification ruling. Representative samples were submitted with your ruling request. You indicated in your letter that the submitted samples, which are identified as ”Noodles” and “Stringers”, are two glass articles that are intended to be used by the art glass industry. The “Noodles”, which resemble fettuccini noodles, are yellow glass strands, each measuring approximately 1.5 mm X 5 mm in cross section, and cut to 17 inches in length. The “Stringers” are blue glass strands that are round in cross section. Each “Stringer” measures approximately 1 mm thick by 16 and one-half inches in length. The applicable subheading for the glass “Noodles” and “Stringers” will be 7020.00.6000, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTS), which provides for other articles of glass: other. The rate of duty will be 5 percent ad valorem. This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Part 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177). A copy of the ruling or the control number indicated above should be provided with the entry documents filed at the time this merchandise is imported.
