The subject product, “R115777,” is your client’s research number for (R)-6-[amino(4-chlorophenyl)(1-methyl-1H-imidazol-5-yl)methyl]-4-(3-chlorophenyl)-1-methyl-2(1H)-quinolinone. The compound contains, in addition to two chlorinated benzene rings, an unfused imidazole ring and an unfused quinoline ring in in its structure. The rate of duty will be 6.5 percent ad valorem. We note that, at the present time, this compound is not listed in Table 1 or Table 3 of the Pharmaceutical Appendix to the Tariff Schedule. This merchandise may be subject to the requirements of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, which is administered by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
