Box 5129 Southfield, Michigan 48086 RE: The tariff classification of garage door rollers from Canada Dear Mr. Krueger: In your letter dated May 13, 1999, on behalf of Canimex, Inc., you requested a tariff classification ruling. The samples you supplied are rollers with steel shafts and nylon wheels. The rollers are designed to be used on garage doors. One sample has a shaft 7 ½ inches [19.5 cm.] in length and a wheel 2 ¾ inches [7 cm] in diameter. The second sample has a shaft 4 5/8 inches [11.7 cm.] in length and a wheel 1 ¾ inches [4.5 cm] in diameter. They do not contain ball bearings or antifriction elements. The general rate of duty will be 3.9 percent. This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Part 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177).
