NY C89350 July 16, 1998 CLA-2-85:RR:NC:1: 112 C89350 CATEGORY: Classification TARIFF NO.: 8544.20.0000 Mr. Jack Leporati Eastman Wire & Cable 1085 Busch Highway Pennsauken, NJ 08110 RE: The tariff classification of coaxial cable from Taiwan Dear Mr. Leporati: In your letter dated June 15, 1998 you requested a tariff classification ruling. As indicated by the submitted descriptive literature, the coaxial cable, designated RG 59/U, is a coaxial cable of either a standard shield construction or a quad shield construction. The standard construction consists of a center conductor, a dialectric of foam polyethylene, a braid shielding, and a PVC jacket. The quad construction is identical except that there are two braid shieldings. The applicable subheading for the RG 59/U coaxial cable will be 8544.20.0000, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTS), which provides for coaxial cable and other coaxial electric conductors. The rate of duty will be 5.3 percent ad valorem. This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Part 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177). A copy of the ruling or the control number indicated above should be provided with the entry documents filed at the time this merchandise is imported.
