The tariff classification of Christmas decorations from China.

Dear Ms. Smith: In your letter dated June 10, 1998, you requested a tariff classification ruling. You have submitted two samples. Sample no. 1, stock number 90574, is a 10.25" long porcelain reindeer with gold plated horns and a wreath around his neck. Sample no. 2, stock number 95225, is a polyresin reindeer table decoration that is available in four styles. The brown colored reindeer have white antlers, and they are decorated with holly leaves and berries. In your letter you state that this merchandise is purchased, advertised and sold through your Christmas department, as Christmas decorations. The samples are returned as requested. The applicable subheading for stock number 90574, porcelain reindeer, and stock number 95225, reindeer table decoration, will be 9505.10.2500, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTS), which provides for...articles for Christmas festivities and parts and accessories thereof: Christmas ornaments: other, other. The rate of duty will be free. This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Part 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177).
