Product description

Style 1272 (1265) is a woman's upper body garment, which you refer to as an underwear camisole, constructed from 100 percent rayon woven satin fabric. The garment extends from the neck and shoulders to below the waist and features non-adjustable shoulder straps approximately 1/4 inch in width, a somewhat shaped U-neckline, a hemmed bottom and a straight back. It consists of five vertical panels and features bias cutting for a closer fit, and a princess seam on both sides. The top edge of the garment is finished with a two-inch wide self-fabric facing which is not sewn down. The facing has a fusible lining which provides weight, stiffness and shape. The fabric, design and tailored finish of the garment are similar to that of outerwear camisoles worn by women with jackets or alone with slacks or a skirt as evening wear.

Purcell Neville, Peterson & Williams 80 Broad Street New York, NY 10004 RE: The tariff classification of a woman's outerwear camisole from India Dear Mr. Purcell: In your letter dated August 15, 1997, you requested a classification ruling on behalf of Pioneer Apparel, Ltd. The sample submitted with your request will be returned to you under separate cover. Style 1272 (1265) is a woman's upper body garment, which you refer to as an underwear camisole, constructed from 100 percent rayon woven satin fabric. The garment extends from the neck and shoulders to below the waist and features non-adjustable shoulder straps approximately 1/4 inch in width, a somewhat shaped U-neckline, a hemmed bottom and a straight back. The duty rate will be 16.7 percent ad valorem. Style 1272 (1265) falls within textile category designation 659.
