P.O.Box 35026 Greensboro, NC 27425 RE: The tariff classification of travel pouches of PVC from China. Dear Ms. Landen: In your letter dated May 16, 1994, you requested a tariff classification ruling. The request is on behalf of Baby Needs, Inc. Your samples are being returned as requested. You have submitted two samples identified as styles Y 1212 and Y 1414. Each item is a small travel pouch designed to contain sundry personal effects suitable for the care of an infant. Each pouch is manufactured of Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) plastic sheeting and have snap closures. Style Y 1212 measures approximately 5 3/4" x 7 5/6", and style Y 1414 measures approximately 5 3/4" x 6 1/4" x 2". The applicable subheading for styles Y 1212 and Y1414, will be 4202.92.4500, Tarrif Schedule of the United States (HTS), which provides for travel, sport and similar bags, with outer ssurface of sheeting of plastics. The duty rate will be 20 percent ad valorem. This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Section 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177). A copy of this ruling letter should be attached to the entry documents filed at the time this merchandise is imported. If the documents have been filed without a copy, this ruling should be brought to the attention of the Customs officer handling the transaction. Sincerely, Jean F.
