Dear Ms. Gottlieb: In a ruling letter (NYRL 840384), dated May 17, 1989, our New York office provided you with a tariff classification of certain chemicals from South Korea under the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS). Among the chemicals listed was sodium para toluene sulfinate which was classified in subheading 2904.10.3000, HTSUS. Sodium para toluene sulfinate is an organo-sulfur compound more properly classifiable in subheading 2930.90.2000, HTSUS.
