The subject product, Cyclosporine, is a cyclic peptide consisting of 11 amino acids, produced as a metabolite by (the fungus) Beauveria nivea. When administered systemically, Cyclosporine is used as an immunosuppressive agent for the prevention of organ rejection in, e.g., kidney and liver transplants.
