Dear Mr. Forhart: In your letter dated August 8, 2006, on behalf of Aisin Holdings of America, Inc., you requested a tariff classification ruling. The item under consideration is an automobile seat component identified as part number 433531-10090 Seat Reclining Arm. The arm is used in a manual seat recliner and serves to regulate the angle of the reclining seat back. As a component of the recliner assembly, the arm transmits the desired seat angle from one reclining gear to the other. The recliner gearing fits to this arm, which is then assembled to the seat base and brackets that attach to the seat back. The arm is designed for and used solely with automobile seats. You have submitted a picture of the item with your request.
