Dear Ms. Chance: In your letter dated March 14, 2006, on behalf of Unitex International, you requested a tariff classification ruling. The merchandise to be imported consists of two styles of floor standing steel wire racks. The racks are used in the commercial retail dry cleaning trade. One rack is used to hang the clear plastic dry cleaner bags. The other rack is used to store the loose wire clothes hangers. You have submitted photographs of the racks with your request. The applicable subheading for the steel wire racks will be 9403.20.0020, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for “Other furniture and parts thereof: Other metal furniture, Other: Counters, lockers, racks, display cases, shelves, partitions and similar fixtures.” The rate of duty will be Free. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change.
