The merchandise is a handmade globe made of 97.3% iron and 2.7% brass by weight. It measures 22.5 inches high by 15 inches deep by 12.5 inches wide. The ball of the globe is made separately and there are eight different maps mounted on the ball to form the world map. Your letter indicates that it is intended to be used for home decorative purposes. The applicable subheading for the base metal globe will be 8306.29.0000, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTS), which provides for bells, gongs and the like, nonelectric, of base metal…statuettes and other ornaments, and parts thereof, other. The rate of duty will be free. This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Part 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177).
