Dear Mr. Shumaker: In your letter dated August 3, 2016, you requested a tariff classification ruling. The merchandise under consideration is described as the Fido jar, item number 4949Q466. A sample was submitted with your ruling request and will be returned to you. The Fido Jar is a square jar with rounded corners, tapering upwards to a round threaded neck. It measures approximately 4 inches long by 4 inches wide by 3.625 inches high. From the information you provided, this jar has a capacity of 19 ounces and is made of clear soda-lime glass which is not pressed or toughened (specially tempered), and has a linear coefficient of expansion which exceeds 5 x 10-6 per Kelvin within a temperature range of 0°C to 300°C. It is imported and sold without a lid, and you do not sell lids separately. You state that the jar will be used for food consumption and the unit value is not over three dollars.
