The subject merchandise is described as “Buffalo Curd” made with 25 gallons of buffalo milk to 1.5 fluid ounces of rennet (protease enzyme). You have stated that the buffalo milk is heated, whey protein is separated, and the enzyme is added to aid with the coagulation of the product. The applicable subheading for the above-described “Buffalo Curd” will be 0406.10.9500, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for cheese and curd: fresh (unripened or uncured) cheese, including whey cheese, and curd: other: other: other: other. The general rate of duty will be 8.5% ad valorem. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change.
