Las Vegas, NV 89147 RE: The tariff classification of a cleaning cloth from China Dear Mr. Koo: In your letter dated July 22, 2015 you requested a tariff classification ruling. You provided supplemental information via e-mail on August 17, 2015. The submitted sample which you identify as “one piece of table cloth” is a cleaning cloth. You state the cleaning cloth is used to clean tables and grease from kitchen floors and equipment. The cleaning cloth is made from 70 percent viscose and 30 percent polyester knit pile fabric. All of the edges are finished. In your letter, you indicated the cloth measured 10 x 10 inches; although, the submitted sample measures approximately 14-½ x 14-½ inches. The applicable subheading for the cleaning cloth will be 6307.10.2030, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for “Other made up articles, including dress patterns: Floorcloths, dishcloths, dusters and similar cleaning cloths: Other....Other.” The rate of duty will be 5.3 percent ad valorem. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change. The text of the most recent HTSUS and the accompanying duty rates are provided on the World Wide Web at http://www.usitc.gov/tata/hts/. This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Part 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177).
