The item concerned is a metal speaker housing assembly. The housing is cylindrical in shape and utilizes a cover/lid with holes punched through to allow for the passage of sound waves. In use a speaker would be incorporated within the housing and the lid would be affixed. Once assembled the complete housed speaker unit is intended to be hung/installed above ceiling tiles. The applicable subheading for the metal speaker housing assembly will be 8518.90.8000, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for “Microphones and stands therefore; loud speakers, whether or not mounted in their enclosures… : Parts: Other: Other.” The rate of duty will be 4.9%. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change.
