Product description

The VarioFil filament extrusion line is dedicated to the production of polypropylene filaments/yarn. Pellets of polymer grade polypropylene are combined with masterbatch for color, melted and metered through a dosing system into an extruder. The extruder pushes the mixture through a spin beam containing spinnerets. The mixture then falls through a cooling quench zone. Here the liquid strands begin to solidify into filaments. The resulting fibers then go through an intermingling zone where air is blown through the filaments to entangle them into yarn. The fibers proceed over rollers, i.e., godets, whose function is to elongate the fibers to the required end count for a given yarn. The final step is to wind the yarn onto spools or bobbins. The multi-filament yarn produced by this line has yarn counts which vary between 200 and 300 denier and filament counts of 72 filaments per end. Submitted representative samples of the filaments produced on this extrusion line are being retained by this office. In your letter,
