Cabozantinib s-Malate, also known as XL184, is the subject of a New Drug Application (NDA) filed with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The FDA has granted priority review, accelerating the approval process for the treatment of metastatic medullary thyroid cancer (MTC). Cabozanitinib s-Malate is a Receptor Tyrosine Kinase Inhibitor (RTKI) which is a potent, targeted therapy that inhibits multiple kinases, including, the met proto-oncogene (MET) and Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor Receptor-2 (VEGFR2). In your letter, you indicated that it is currently undergoing phase III clinical studies for the treatment of metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer and for the treatment of medullary thyroid cancer. It is also being studied for the treatment of other tumor types such as ovarian cancer, melanoma, breast cancer and non-small cell lung cancer.
