Politis Politis & Politis 1055 West 7th Street, Suite 2288 Los Angeles, CA 90017 RE: The tariff classification of a blend of corn syrup and honey from China Dear Mr. Politis: In your letter dated July 20, 2012, you requested a tariff classification on behalf of Minji Imports, Inc. An ingredients breakdown accompanied your letter. The Syrup/Honey blend is said to be composed of 90 percent corn syrup and 10 percent honey. The blend will be packaged in 7 ounce, 12 ounce, 16 ounce, and 32 ounce plastic containers for sale to supermarkets and food services, including restaurants in the United States. The applicable subheading for the corn syrup and honey blend will be 2106.90.9998, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides food preparations not elsewhere specified or included … other … other … other. The rate of duty will be 6.4 percent ad valorem. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change. This merchandise is subject to The Public Health Security and Bioterrorism Preparedness and Response Act of 2002 (The Bioterrorism Act), which is regulated by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). You have expressed a concern whether this product is subject to antidumping duties or countervailing duties (AD/CVD).
