The subject product is a tissue freeze spray containing Tetrafluoroethane, also known as 1,2,2,2-Tetrafluoroethane (HFC-134a). Based on the chemical structure, Tetrafluoroethane, CAS No. 811-97-2, is a halogenated derivative of an acyclic hydrocarbon. The product is indicated for use to flash freeze tissue specimens or to harden difficult-to-cut tissue during sectioning.
