Dear Mr. Sebestyen: In your letter dated October 10, 2011 you requested a tariff classification ruling. The item in question is stainless steel wire mesh. Imported in material lengths, this product is twill woven, contains 98 wires per lineal centimeter and can be used in a variety of applications. The applicable subheading for the woven wire mesh will be 7314.14.9000, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for cloth (including endless bands), grill, netting and fencing, of iron or steel wire; expanded metal of iron or steel, woven cloth, other woven cloth, of stainless steel, with meshes finer than 36 wires to the lineal centimeter in warp or maximum, other. The rate of duty will be free. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change. The text of the most recent HTSUS and the accompanying duty rates are provided on World Wide Web at http://www.usitc.gov/tata/hts/.
