The subject product, Diethylene glycol dimethyl ether, also known as Ethane, 1,1'-oxybis[2-methoxy-, is an ether of a polyhydric alcohol. The product is indicated for use in the halogen extraction from transformer oil. The applicable subheading for Diethylene glycol dimethyl ether, in bulk form, will be 2909.19.6000, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for Acyclic ethers and their halogenated sulfonated, nitrated or nitrosated derivatives: Ethers of polyhydric alcohols: Other. The rate of duty will be 5.5 percent ad valorem. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change.
