Product description

The products under consideration are different types of aluminum extrusions, all made from 6063-T5 aluminum alloy and imported in material lengths. Some of the extrusions are hollow rectangular seamless tubes having their inner and outer surfaces of the same form, while the majority of the items are profile shapes. These profiles will be of various configurations and of either hollow or open construction. The hollow profiles may have 2 holes drilled at 4 inch intervals along their entire length. All of these extrusions will be used in the manufacture of skeletal frames for screened in porches.

Dear Mr. Elder: In your letter dated June 13, 2011 you requested a tariff classification ruling. The products under consideration are different types of aluminum extrusions, all made from 6063-T5 aluminum alloy and imported in material lengths. Some of the extrusions are hollow rectangular seamless tubes having their inner and outer surfaces of the same form, while the majority of the items are profile shapes. These profiles will be of various configurations and of either hollow or open construction. The hollow profiles may have 2 holes drilled at 4 inch intervals along their entire length. The general rate of duty will be 1.5 percent ad valorem. The general rate of duty will be 5 percent ad valorem. The applicable subheading for the aluminum tubes open profiles will be 7608.20.0030, HTSUS, which provides for aluminum tubes and pipes, of aluminum alloys, seamless.
