Box 1199 Williston, VT 05495 RE: The tariff classification of dish protectors from China Dear Ms. Pendris: In your letter dated June 2, 2011, you requested a tariff classification ruling. You submitted a sample of a package of 48 woven polyester sheets, item #68950 which have been die-cut into discs with scalloped edges. The set includes three sizes, 12 small 4-1/2” discs, 24 medium 6” discs and 12 large 8” discs. You state the sheets are placed in between stacked plates and cups to prevent surface scratches. The applicable subheading for the package of 48 Dish Protectors item #68950 will be 6307.90.9889, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for other made up textile articles, other. The rate of duty will be 7% ad valorem. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change. The text of the most recent HTSUS and the accompanying duty rates are provided on the World Wide Web at http://www.usitc.gov/tata/hts/. The sample will be returned as you requested.
