The item under consideration has been identified as a Synoris garage door opener powered by either a 1 hp or a 3/4 hp electric motor. These units will be imported with the operator unit which holds the motor, a lighting and electrical control system, the chain on which the unit moves and a hand-help remote control transmitter. The transmitter has a range of approximately 100 yards and includes a security code generating system. In your request you state that the rail that houses the chain will not be included. The applicable subheading for the Synoris garage door opener will be 8428.90.0190, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for “Other lifting, handling…machinery…: Other machinery: Other”. The rate of duty will be Free. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change.
