Product description
The item concerned is referred to as a Plasma Globe Light, (item number A014DA00503). It consists of a glass globe, which measures three inches in diameter, mounted on a plastic base. The base incorporates an On/Off switch, a battery compartment and an adapter jack for use with an AC adapter. This unit operates on two “AA” batteries or via an AC adapter cable, neither is included. The glass globe is filled with a mixture of various gases; a much smaller globe in the center of the outer globe serves as an electrode. In use, electrical current causes illuminated/glowing plasma filaments to extend out in all directions, from the inner electrode to the outer glass globe, giving the appearance of multiple beams of moving colored light. Placing a hand near the outer glass globe alters the electric field causing a single beam of light to migrate from the inner ball to the point of contact.
