The subject product, Dihydrostreptomycin Sulfate, is a semi-synthetic aminoglycoside antibiotic. Per your letter, you state that it will be used in the animal health pharmaceutical industry as an active pharmaceutical ingredient and is an approved pharmaceutical preparation for dairy cattle. The applicable subheading for the Dihydrostreptomycin Sulfate in bulk powder form will be 2941.20.1000, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for “Antibiotics: Streptomycins and their derivatives: salts thereof: Dihydrostreptomycin and its derivatives; salts thereof.” The rate of duty will be 3.5% ad valorem. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change.
