Steer Co. 28 South 2nd Street Philadelphia, PA 19106 RE: The tariff classification of a chef’s jacket from Sri Lanka Dear Mr. Nolan: In your letter dated October 25, 2010, and in subsequent correspondence received on November 18, 2010, you requested a tariff classification ruling on behalf of Pinnacle Textile Industries LLC. As requested, your sample is being returned. The submitted sample is a chef’s jacket, submitted in a size Large, that is constructed from 65% polyester, 35% cotton solid color woven fabric. The garment has a mandarin collar; a left over right, asymmetrical full front opening with five button closures; a front snap closure on the inside left neck area; long, raglan sleeves with fold-over split cuffs; a patch pocket on the lower right front panel; a double pen pocket on the upper left sleeve; adjustable, three button tabs on each side of the back panel at the waist; embroidered designs on the left chest and on the upper back panel; and a straight, hemmed bottom. The applicable subheading for the chef’s jacket will be 6205.30.2070, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for men’s or boys’ shirts: of man-made fibers: other: other: other: other: men’s. The rate of duty will be 29.1 cents per kg + 25.9% ad valorem. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change.
