Sepulveda Blvd., #768 Manhattan Beach, CA 90266 RE: The tariff classification of pear fruit paste from New Zealand Dear Mr. Muir: In your letters dated April 13, 2010, and April 26, 2010, the latter received by this office on May 4, 2010, you requested a tariff classification ruling. The sample submitted with your letter was examined and disposed of. The product, described as a “pear fruit paste”, is a firm, sliceable, jelly-like product in block form measuring approximately four inches in length and three inches in width. The product is said to contain glucose syrup, dextrose monohydrate, water, sodium citrate, pear fruit paste (approximately 16 percent prior to cooking), pectin, flavoring and acid. The ingredients are the mixed and cooked until the product reaches a Brix of 72, with pear making up approximately 19 percent of the finished product.
